The Nursery
Grace Presbyterian Church, Dalton, GA.
Welcome! We are honored to serve your family by providing the best care possible for your child while you are here at Grace Presbyterian Church. We recognize each child as a gift from God, and have developed policies and guidelines that assist us in providing a safe, clean, and nurturing environment for your child while they are under our care. We require all of our paid staff members to maintain certificates in Infant/Child CPR, and First Aid, but welcome approved church members to come and assist in providing additional care as volunteers. The morning worship service can be heard in the nursery, so you can listen to the sermon while rocking a baby. Just let us know if you’d like to serve.
Our services are offered to the parents of children ranging in age from 6 weeks to their 4th birthday. Parents, or guardians, must be attending the church function for which the nursery services are being provided. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to speak to our nursery coordinators Kim Beam (706) 529-8775 or Shannon Carr (706) 529-7634
Thank you for your trust and cooperation,
Nursery Staff

All children must wear a disposable diaper or pull-up until they are 100% potty trained. Diapers will be changed if needed. If your child routinely has “messy” diapers please bring a change of clothing for us to have on hand.
LABELING
It is imperative that everything belonging to your child is labeled! Especially, diaper bags, sippy cups, and bottles.
SNACKS
An appropriate snack may be offered to your child during their nursery visit. Please bring a spill proof cup for your child with your choice of beverage. (Beverages in containers with no top will not be permitted). Please do not bring snacks from home. Unless your child has a medical need or needs a special snack.
APPROPRIATE DRESS
Please make sure that your child is dressed appropriately or has the necessary layers. Dependant upon the weather the nursery staff is able to take the children to the playground, into the gym, or outside for a walk. Please make sure all walking children have shoes to protect their feet.
CRYING & DISCIPLINE
The parents of a child who has been crying steadily for 10 minutes for unknown reasons will be notified to come and get their child. Likewise, parents will be notified of any discipline problems with their child, (ongoing biting or hitting). In children ages 2 and up nursery staff will utilize “timeouts” to stop inappropriate behavior. In order to maintain a serene environment where your child feels comfortable we must remove any child exhibiting behavior that could upset the rest of the nursery.
SCHEDULING NURSERY FOR SPECIAL CHURCH FUNCTIONS
Please schedule any and all special nursery needs for church functions by contacting the nursery coordinator at least 2 weeks prior to the function.
